Eligibility Criteria for NUST ENTRY TEST 2021

Minimum 60% aggregate marks each in Matric and HSSC / equivalent exams.

Candidates of FA/F.Sc stream can apply for NET on the basis of FA/F.Sc Part-I but confirmation of admission is subject to provision of FA/F.Sc certificate or Detailed Marks Certificate.

Candidates of O/A Level or equivalent qualification can apply on the basis of O Level (SSC) equivalence certificate obtained from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) office but confirmation of their admission is subject to provision of A Level (HSSC) equivalence certificate.

Merit for Applied Biosciences program will be based on complete F.Sc / A Level or equivalent qualification (as per IBCC Equivalence Certificate) result.

NUST ENTRY TEST DATE 2021

For the first registration(NET-I) form are made available in month of Oct - November 2020 on their official sites while the exams is taken during January 2021

During Jan - March the registration for the second series (NET-II) open while the test is conducted in March 2021 The NUST test for the third series (NET-III) of 2021 will be organized in jun 2021. Applicants could apply for the from May - Jun 2021 the fee for the exam is PKR 3000 to 3500.www.nust.edu.pk

Attempting an entrance exam is not just about studying hard, it is also going in with a strategy. If you have prepared really well, but cannot finish it on time or waste too much time on a least important section, then your hard work is wasted. Preparing Physics portion of NET

In order to perform well in physics portion, you must be good at concepts. Also solving numerical problems is more important. Most of the MCQ’s in physics portion are numerical type, a few are the conceptual or from the books. Numerical from the last chapters of book 1 and book 2 were more than the others. In order to have a good grasp on solving numerical problems, you need to cram formulas. Prepare a formula sheet of all the formulae given in the books and go through them again and again. Practice the numerical based questions from different books. Before searching for the solution in key books try to solve the question on your own.

How to Prepare for MATHS for NET

Math is the major portion in Engineering NET. To be good at math, you need to Practice and practice. Also, many students lose most marks in it. It has 80 marks. Focus on the math portion, don't hurry even if you spend like 30-45% of the allotted time on Math is portion, and don't worry. Most of the questions are from the text books just with a slight change in values. The rest are also from the text books but those are asked in such a way that students get confused
Do read the book lines, some questions are also taken out from those lines. Learn the properties of logarithms, learn the theorems in math’s of class 9th and 10th and in F.Sc, you must be knowing when and where to apply a certain formula. The integration and differentiation part must be well prepared. The chapter 4th of book 2 related to lines and their equations sometimes bring the trickiest questions.

Chemistry

There are only 30 MCQ’s in Entry test for engineering students. Most of these are easy, as these are required to check the student’s basic concept in chemistry. So, for good preparation of Chemistry you need to cram basics. Mostly they will ask about formulae and application. Organic chemistry part gives a hard time so be prepared for it. Inorganic chemistry is completely Cramming so do it. Focus on Organic portion.

English

There are only 20 MCQ’s in English section so Don't waste time much time on it. Mostly student’s vocabulary is checked. Keep in mind that you cannot build your vocabulary in a day or two. However, you should know where to employ which form of verb and at least a slight idea on putting right verb or word in blanks. Focus on your grammar. The words included in the tests seem to be from two sources:
1) Mr. Chips
2) SAT English
It is better to improve your vocabulary during your F.Sc exams preparation, so that it can help you for your exams as well as for your entry test. Grammar is also very important.

IQ

Questions depend on your IQ ability. The earlier you understand the problem, the earlier you will attempt it. Practice a few questions every day to learn the pattern of the IQ related questions.
If you are apply to engineering programs, then Try to give more time to MATHS and PHYSICS portion as they make most of the paper.
If you are applying for Biological Sciences then give more time to Biology and Chemistry.
So start it off today and try to cover your two years syllabus in two months. A two months preparation is normally good if you give it due time every day.
